Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (Euromed)

Critical minerals, policy, and the energy transition

Facilitating market development across Euromed

EUROMED, also known as the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, is a regional initiative designed to promote economic integration, political cooperation, and cultural exchange among the European Union and a diverse group of Mediterranean partner countries, including North African nations such as Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya; Middle Eastern countries including Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria; and European states along the Mediterranean coastline. Through structured collaboration, trade liberalisation, and targeted investment programmes, EUROMED strengthens market access, supports inclusive economic growth, and enhances regional stability and prosperity. This partnership also facilitates trade and cooperation in strategic sectors, notably energy, agriculture, advanced technologies, infrastructure development, and critical minerals essential for renewable energy transition and sustainable economic development. By reducing regulatory barriers, improving connectivity, and fostering public-private partnerships, EUROMED encourages sustainable economic cooperation, competitiveness, and resilience. Ultimately, EUROMED serves as a vital platform to build mutual understanding, resource security, and integrated markets, bridging diverse economies and cultures across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
