Expertise and career highlights

Ismet has over a decade of experience in the extractive and raw materials industry, specializing in critical minerals, sustainability, and resource efficiency. He has served as an ESG Consultant, developing scoring models aligned with the EU Taxonomy and SFDR to support sustainable investments. His expertise includes ESG performance analysis, policy research, and emissions calculations. Prior to this, Ismet worked as a Sustainability Consultant, focusing on resource efficiency, ESG risk analysis, and Net-Zero road mapping for sustainable mining operations. He holds an MA in Environmental Futures, an MSc in Engineering Management, and a BSc in Geological Engineering.

Ismet has led the development of ESG scoring models, supporting sustainable investments through policy research and Life Cycle Assessments. At ESAN Lead & Zinc Mining, he focused on resource efficiency and developed a Net Zero road map. At Polyak Mining, he conducted ESG risk analysis and explored clean production technologies. Ismet co-founded the Critical Minerals Initiative of Turkey and organized the 2024 Turkey Critical Minerals Summit. He also managed a team at CVK Mining, overseeing cost management for operations at multiple mining sites, conducting pre-feasibility analysis, and managing contracts for geophysics and metallurgical testing.
